Richland, WA - REU students visited the LIGO Hanford Observatory this summer under the expert guidance of INT Senior Fellow, Vincenzo Cirigliano. The visit offered an inside look at gravitational wave research. Highlights included laser systems and vacuum chambers.

Despite the summer rain, the INT welcomed 14 visitors to begin the INT program "Heavy Ion Physics in the EIC era." Slides from program talks can be accessed on the program webpage. 

David Kaplan has developed a lattice model for particles that are left- or right-handed, offering a firmer foundation for the theory of weak interactions.
