Overview
The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science Headquarters is looking for a dynamic, innovative, seasoned executive to lead the Nuclear Physics (NP) program as the Associate Director.
The NP portfolio includes research programs and scientific user facilities to understand the forces and particles of nature as manifested in nuclear matter. The program fosters research to provide new insights and advance our knowledge on the nature of matter and energy, and develops the scientific knowledge, technologies, and trained workforce that will be needed to underpin DOE’s missions for nuclear-related national security, energy, climate, medicine, and commerce.
The Associate Director of NP is responsible for the overall management of the NP program, including strategic program planning; budget formulation and execution; project management; program integration with other Office of Science activities and other DOE offices; interagency and international liaison; and management of the federal and rotating technical and administrative staff in the NP program office.
